I highly recommend Sara Silvestri if you are looking into tongue tie/lip tie revision for your infant or toddler. My son was born with a tongue tie, and two pediatricians and two lactation consultants didn't catch it. Finally I advocated for my son and saw a ENT in Portland because I wanted to protect my breastfeeding relationship, even though I had a large supply. I go my son's lip/tongue tie revised in Portland at 2 months who did a great job, but I did't keep up with the exercises to the full extend so the tongue reattached. I agonized over getting my baby's tongue done again, but after seeing a really good lactation consultant in Seattle, and a Crainiosacral therapist they recommended I do it again (and they are not invasive procedure leaning at all). So I was recommended Sara Silvestri. I went in when my son was 4 months. Had the evaluation and procedure done in the same visit. The procedure was like 5 minutes maybe. He cried from being held down, but not from the procedure itself. He nursed right after the procedure, and was totally fine! The streches to follow up are hard (because baby is like what are you doing in my mouth!) but worth it! She was amazing, and such a kid friendly office for my busy 3 year old to come along. She gave me peace of mind, and shared her personal experience and showed me empathy. Didn't pressure me to make a decision if I didn't want to. That was key for me - hearing from the medical professional trained in tongue ties who had a family member with a tongue tie. This gave me the confidence I was doing the right thing. My son now has less gas, spit up, and is a better latcher. I'm sure his speech and ability to eat solids has improved since having the procedure. Would highly recommend seeing Sara if you are on the fence, or looking for someone to see your baby for tongue/tie lip tie laser revision (frenotomy/frenectomy).
